Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossain Sharif was born on August 1972 at Jhalakati district of Bangladesh. He is the 1^st out of three children of Md. Delowar Hossain Sharif and Mrs. Sufia Begum. Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossain Sharif received his primary education at Diakul Government Primary School, Jhalakati. He successfully completed his secondary school education from Jhalakati Government High School and higher secondary education from Jhalakati Government College, Jhalakati in 1988 and 1990, respectively. He successfully completed B. Sc. Ag. (Hons.) degree in 1994 (held in 1998) from Patuakhali Agricultural College, an affiliated institution of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. He also obtained M.S & Phd degree in Genetics & Plant Breeding in 2000 and 2019 respectively from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossain Sharif started his professional career in 2001 as an Agricultural Extension Officer, Department of Agricultural Extension. Now he is working as an Additional Director, NATP-II, Department of Agricultural Extension, Khamarbari, Dhaka. He is life member of Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh and Plant Breeding and Genetics Society of Bangladesh.
